The Costumer's Manifesto is written by Tara Maginnis, and proudly hosted by William Baker.

THE MANIFESTO IS MUTATING!  IT IS TURNING INTO A WIKI THAT CAN BECOME THE HIVE MIND OF ALL COSTUMERS, FINALLY LIVING UP TO IT'S SLOGAN: "COSTUMERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!" YOU CAN HELP IN THIS PROCESS BY MOVING PAGES TO THE NEW SITE AT THECOSTUMERSMANIFESTO.COM, HELPING TO EDIT THE PAGES THAT ARE THERE ALREADY, AND ADDING YOUR OWN ORIGINAL INPUT.

Fake Stained Glass

I  bought two cheap stained glass lamps in the effort to turn my new abode into a fake Victorian house.

These inspired me to try working on the windows and existing cheap fixtures to make them look like stained glass with Gallery Glass paints

Mvc-021f.jpg (83686 bytes) MVC-014F.JPG (89560 bytes) This is the door window to the back porch. You can peek out the eyes to see into the garden.

We are now working on several of the other boring lamps in the house:MVC-019F.JPG (36910 bytes) MVC-003F.JPG (31915 bytes) MVC-012F.JPG (36335 bytes)

In the kitchen we are taking this ugly fixture MVC-021F.JPG (35177 bytes) and using the colors of the plates we have decorating the room MVC-008F.JPG (41516 bytes) as well as the pattern from the lace curtains MVC-005F.JPG (69777 bytes) we are making matching designs to "goose" the lamp and the edges of windows: MVC-004F.JPG (35224 bytes)  First we lay out leading on plastic MVC-010F.JPG (41306 bytes) Then we fill the pattern with color.   MVC-018F.JPG (43663 bytes) then we lay the pattern on the glass and fill in the blank spots. MVC-009F.JPG (45059 bytes) On the small shades we apply leading directly to the shade and then fill in with color once it is dried. MVC-011F.JPG (39006 bytes)  To do the simple geometric edges o the windows we put leading in rows and curves on plastic. MVC-013F.JPG (59203 bytes)    Then peel it and stick it to the window in patterns, before we put in the color.
