THE MANIFESTO IS MUTATING!  IT IS TURNING INTO A WIKI THAT CAN BECOME THE HIVE MIND OF ALL COSTUMERS, FINALLY LIVING UP TO IT'S SLOGAN: "COSTUMERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!" YOU CAN HELP IN THIS PROCESS BY MOVING PAGES TO THE NEW SITE AT THECOSTUMERSMANIFESTO.COM, HELPING TO EDIT THE PAGES THAT ARE THERE ALREADY, AND ADDING YOUR OWN ORIGINAL INPUT.

Turning Light-up Christmas Deer into Quick Topiary

top01.JPG (118998 bytes)  top02.JPG (111332 bytes) A pair of light-up lawn deer are found in a dumpster, and their lights removed.

top03.JPG (117465 bytes) top04.jpg (131057 bytes) The remaining wire frames are spray-painted green.

top05.jpg (140055 bytes) top06.JPG (120799 bytes) Sphagnum moss is stuffed into the frames.

PICT0037.JPG (132381 bytes) Fake plants are twisted onto the outside to form filler between the real leaves.

Topiary Basics : The Art of Shaping Plants in Gardens & Containers You always wanted to clip and train trees into animal and geometric shapes when you were a kid, why not do so now that you are an adult, and nobody will stop you?

PICT0047.JPG (272601 bytes)  PICT0046.JPG (302780 bytes)  The frames are moved atop a place with lots of 3-4' Alaskan willow sprouts.  The willow is twisted around and up the legs of the frames, and woven in and out between the fake leaves and wires like vines.

Willow sproutings are also wound up metal garden arches.  Most trellis type plants can't grow as perennials in Alaska, but the local willow sprouts that come up on their own make a great free substitute.
