Fimo Heel for "Period" Mule to go with the Court Mantua Project

Black Fimo clay is applied around the skinny plastic heel of a modern mule and formed to an 18th century shape. Rhinestones and pearls are pressed into the soft clay, and a design of the UK coat of arms is pressed into the back of the heel.  The shoes are baked in the oven to harden as directed in the clay's instructions.

A layer of rusty brown paint is applied to the clay after it has cooled.

Dark bronze-gold paint is applied on all except the crevices as a mid-tone.

The coat of arms, and edges of the heel are picked out in colored and bright gold paints.

Important details are gold-leafed.
