Buckram Dress Form Clone Project

This project works best with a Wolfe style semi rigid dress form.

Wrap your dress form completely in plastic wrap. A couple of layers is a good idea. Make sure ever part is completely covered . These things are expensive!  Secure the plastic wrap with 1 inch wide masking tape.  Try to keep things as smooth as possible. Next cut strips of buckram 2 to 3 inches wide.  Cut more strips than you think you will need. A drop cloth might be a good idea as this project can be a little messy.  Fill a plastic dish pan with warm water. Take a strip of buckram dip it in the water until it goes limp. Lift out your strip let the water drain back into the dish pan and start wrapping your form. Ideally you want at lest two layers of buckram . Wrapping the shoulders on the diagonal seems to work best. The layers should be at different angles from one another as it will make the finished clone stronger.  Let dry at least overnight.  When completely dry use bandage scissors to cut the clone off the form. With bandage scissors you are less likely to damage your form.
