THE MANIFESTO IS MUTATING!  IT IS TURNING INTO A WIKI THAT CAN BECOME THE HIVE MIND OF ALL COSTUMERS, FINALLY LIVING UP TO IT'S SLOGAN: "COSTUMERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!" YOU CAN HELP IN THIS PROCESS BY MOVING PAGES TO THE NEW SITE AT THECOSTUMERSMANIFESTO.COM, HELPING TO EDIT THE PAGES THAT ARE THERE ALREADY, AND ADDING YOUR OWN ORIGINAL INPUT.

Plaster Bandage Breastplate (5D+10C)

Essentially, this project is nearly identical to that used for the Plaster bandage mask, except obviously, one casts a person's chest to make an armored type breastplate.  Other differences include the necessity to reinforce the breastplate with several more layers of plaster bandage so it will hold up, and to make some sort of strapping mechanism to hold it on.  The breastplate from The Grand Tarot shown above has a simple stretch fabric body hugging strap with Velcro back to which the breastplate was glued, other designs may require different approaches.

To do the project, read the instructions found in the Plaster bandage mask project and apply them to this project.  Make a sketch of your proposed design, make a chest cast, reinforce the cast, decorate it to match your design, and devise a suitable strapping arrangement.

When it is finished, photograph the sketch and breastplate as jpeg files and post them to your File folder at the class eGroup.  Post a message to the group letting everyone know you have posted these pictures so you can get feedback.
