Week #2
Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome
Step 2:

This week you should begin to make a homepage on the WWW.  To do this you will first need to find a "web server" that will "host" your site.   This page lists several good free hosts that previous students liked to use.  Go to one of these, and fill out the online forms for getting free page hosting.  If you already have a homepage site of your own online, skip forward to Step 4.

Step 3:

At your free service provider site, use the automatic home page builder feature at the site to build a simple page.  Put your name on the page, and some short biographical information to introduce yourself to the other members of the class. [See Tara's Bio for a fancy example. ]

Step 4:

Send the URL of your page (looks like http://www.mypage.com or similar) in an e-mail to Tara, and tell her you want to be added to the student web links page.

Step 5:

Do a short online search with Google for good links on the topic of jewelry for one of the three Ancient cultures covered in this lesson.  Try to find at least one really good link showing Ancient examples of the jewelry, and at least one good link selling modern reproductions for costumers.  Post your links and their names either to your new web page, or to the Message Board.
