THE MANIFESTO IS MUTATING!  IT IS TURNING INTO A WIKI THAT CAN BECOME THE HIVE MIND OF ALL COSTUMERS, FINALLY LIVING UP TO IT'S SLOGAN: "COSTUMERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!" YOU CAN HELP IN THIS PROCESS BY MOVING PAGES TO THE NEW SITE AT THECOSTUMERSMANIFESTO.COM, HELPING TO EDIT THE PAGES THAT ARE THERE ALREADY, AND ADDING YOUR OWN ORIGINAL INPUT.

How to Get Your New Site Listed

Once you have uploaded your site to the net it is important to let people know it is there.   More people will be able to find your site if you take a few hours time to ensure it is listed with search engines and the main costume sites.

  • Search Engines --- Go to the big engines Yahoo and Alta Vista directly and fill out their short listing forms.  Other engines can be reached by going to one of many sites that have Wizards that help you to list with dozens of  engines at once.  SubmitFree: Submit to 25+ Search Engines for free !!!!
  • Meta Tags --- You can help search engines find your site by putting invisible Meta Tags in your main pages that list search terms relevant to your site's content.  This will bring more people to your site that are seeking the information you have. There are free meta tag makers free online (listed below) that can help you make them and insert them into your page code.
  • Costume Web Ring --- Go to the Costume Web Ring and sign up to be part of the Ring.  My own site doubled it's traffic the week it went on this Ring.  Go to the main costume sites on the Ring (The Costume Site, The Costume Page, The Costumer's Manifesto and La Couturière Parisienne) and write an e-mail to each web mistress asking if she will please link to your new site.
