Medieval Women's Headdress and Costume
From a set of anonymous freeware clip art distributed during the 1980's

12th Century

One of these drawings came from illustrations Ila McAfee did for Katherine Lester's Historic Costume, 1925. Several others are done in McAfee's style, and probably come from other early costume texts for which she was illustrator. Presumably these works passed into public domain some time ago, and should be useful for web art on historic costume pages. Another good copyright expired image is this headdress from Speltz' Styles of Ornament, 1904. Click small version for larger image:
