The Costumer's Manifesto is written by Tara Maginnis, and proudly hosted by William Baker.

THE MANIFESTO IS MUTATING!  IT IS TURNING INTO A WIKI THAT CAN BECOME THE HIVE MIND OF ALL COSTUMERS, FINALLY LIVING UP TO IT'S SLOGAN: "COSTUMERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!" YOU CAN HELP IN THIS PROCESS BY MOVING PAGES TO THE NEW SITE AT THECOSTUMERSMANIFESTO.COM, HELPING TO EDIT THE PAGES THAT ARE THERE ALREADY, AND ADDING YOUR OWN ORIGINAL INPUT.

Unspoken Conversation

"How should I read this?"

you ask

of yet another

straightforward letter

looking for hidden meanings

behind every comma

insulted by being told

to do

what you wished to do anyway

annoyed that they

anticipate your request

instead of fighting it

looking for enemies

where none are there

creating them

from nothing

but your own inconstancy

How should I read you?

last year you said

our work is based

on trust

last year you condemned

others

for doing what you have

just done

I trusted

labored and suffered

for what

I took in good faith

to be worthy

and trusted

in you

to do your part

in this

your own private kingdom

How should you read me?

as one

too worn and tired

from my futile labors

to fight you

for destroying your own creation

like Frankenstein

angry at the

imperfections

you sowed into our work

like salt in the furrows

poisoning the seed

confused that my friend

has vanished

in a fit of paranoia

leaving behind

only

an accidental charlatan
