THE MANIFESTO IS MUTATING!  IT IS TURNING INTO A WIKI THAT CAN BECOME THE HIVE MIND OF ALL COSTUMERS, FINALLY LIVING UP TO IT'S SLOGAN: "COSTUMERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!" YOU CAN HELP IN THIS PROCESS BY MOVING PAGES TO THE NEW SITE AT THECOSTUMERSMANIFESTO.COM, HELPING TO EDIT THE PAGES THAT ARE THERE ALREADY, AND ADDING YOUR OWN ORIGINAL INPUT.

Day 3: Boat Excursion to Hampton Court Palace & Textile Conservation Studio

Take a soothing boat excursion up river to Hampton Court Palace, built by Cardinal Wolsey, inhabited by Henry VIII, and several succeeding Tudor and Stuart Monarchs. Hampton Court retains most of it’s Tudor and Stuart architectural features, as well as extensive period gardens, including one of the finest mazes in England. Costumed guides lead tours through the entire interior of the palace, which is full of wonderful Stuart portraits of Charles II’s female favorites, period furniture, and good ghost stories. We will also be seeing The Textile Conservation Studio located there. Since the fascinating gardens are open until much later than the last boat return, we will return by train after a picnic dinner, weather permitting. Evening free.
